Wadi Farm HerdLife offers a variety of holistic healing and learning experiences, all equine related, as well as recreational activities like herd visits and Forest Bathing or Bush Walking With Horses.

​

We have gone full circle from originally learning pressure based/negative reinforcement 'natural horsemanship', to these days practising behaviour recognition coupled with liberty/kindness/affirmative based training techniques. We give choice. We reward positively. We use minimal tools, maximum choice, mutual respect. (For our horses, and humans alike!) This includes the feeding of food 'treats' to those horses who prefer it/respond well to it. 

 

Here, we do not teach you how to ride. We do not train outside horses. We teach YOU common sense groundwork, how to recognise equine behaviour and how to better communicate with yourself and your horses, which will improve your riding (if you ride), regardless. We can help you learn/re-learn how to connect.

 

Established in 2005, we offer 95 acres of mixed bush and open pasture (well fenced) with 8 equines, some of them wild born, rescued horses, most of whom participate in our programs.

 

We currently offer the following clinics/retreats/workshops (please note you can work with our horses or book to bring your own) :

 

• Recognising Equine Behaviour (6 hour workshop) 

• Release & Connection (6 hour workshop designed to promote self-awareness and healthy change)

• Healthy Human, Healthy Horse (6 hour workshop - holistic connection between emotional/physical health)

• Individual Float Load Training lessons

• Young Equine Introductory Mornings - for children 6 - 12 years (accompanying adult/s required)

• Essential Oil workshops, Equine Behaviour Consultation & Intuitive Equine Assistance Sessions (your place or ours)

• Equine Bodywork (again, we host trainers)

• Walking With Horses - Forest Bathing Walks/Guided Mindfulness/Meditative Bush Walking sessions with members of the herd - prices vary according to walk

• Photographic Sessions - I'm a professional digital photographer, almost every photo on this website is mine. I would be happy to organise digital photo shoot with you and your animal/s. Bring them here or I will travel (limited area). Set cost for set number of print ready, high quality digital images. Plus travel if applicable. Contact Katherine for further details.

We are also happy to host charity/fundraising days for appropriate causes, as well as for School/Agricultural Schools.

Our parameters for Client Sessions/Outside Agencies are as follows;

 

• Any professional visit must be booked in advance.

• Relevant paperwork (client information sheet, proof of insurance if required, and risk waivers) are to be completed prior to all sessions.

• Client fees will apply.

• Any paddock work will be supervised, with appropriate horses selected prior to the visit.

 

If these guidelines are not followed, we will regretfully have to cancel the visit.

JUST FOR HORSES

• Visiting horses may like an Intuitive 100% therapeutic grade Essential Oil session - just ask. $60 including oils.

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?

​

We occasionally welcome short term volunteers or those wishing to work towards a career with horses, community college (building up hours), or community group work. Please contact us to apply as we have criteria that must be met for volunteer work, especially with regard to personal accident insurance and accommodation arrangements.
